The current study searched for some physiological factors and genetic aspects of patients with sickle cell anemia in Thi Qar Governorate, Iraq.
The research sample included patients with 53 males and 47 females of age (2-54 years), which were divided into five age groups 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40 and more than 40 years.
They were diagnosed by the medical advisory staff according to the clinical examination, symptoms, indicators of red blood cells, blood film, and color separation. They were being monitored by the Center for Genetic Hematology in Thi Qar Governorate during the period from March 2018 to January 2019.
